The graphical style here did remind me of the James Pond series but since I believe that's also by Vectordean, that's understandable! Rolo doesn't play much like an Amiga game - the Amiga was notorious for its apparent inability to host console-style platformers. There were several attempts to do so, like Zool for example, but the closest it came was with the superb Superfrog. Rolo's definitely worth your time though, if you like cutesy platformers but I'd strongly recommend you play it via an emulator...RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-34117666211996871692012-03-21T00:23:52.464+00:002012-03-21T00:23:52.464+00:00You'll probably find this funny, Simon, but th...You'll probably find this funny, Simon, but this game looks very British to me, or maybe European in general? It also strikes me as very Amiga-ish -- due in part to its styling, but in even larger part to its use of color. I don't know if other Americans would feel the same, but that's how I've always felt about games that look like this one. I don't say all of that in a negative way, by the way -- it's just not an art/style choice that is commonly seen in the States, or wasn't back when I was a kid. All that said, this one looks very cute. May have to check it out sometime :)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-74687408378010028862012-03-20T22:06:07.860+00:002012-03-20T22:06:07.860+00:00They sure did buddy! Maybe I can sort something out but it would probably take quite a bit of messing around! :| You're right regarding Rolo though, it lost out on a 9/10 because of that problem. It took me bloody ages to get far enough into it to grab shots of the later worlds! Which reminds me - how about a tribute to the makers of our beloved emulators? They worked really hard & without a wage for the benefit of all. We owe them big time.Lukey Firebeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08048168897735233897noreply@blogger.com
