Hellfire is much more enjoyable on Sega's machine than in arcades. I've only played Wardner on the MD briefly but it seems like another great conversion :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-40283029441029017152014-04-14T12:19:43.119+01:002014-04-14T12:19:43.119+01:00not sure about a PC Engine version since most of T...not sure about a PC Engine version since most of Toaplan games are kinda poor on NEC consoles
the Mega Drive, on other hand, is like a 2nd home for Toaplan Arcade games of this era : Tatsujin; Hellfire or Zero Wing for examples, all made a very well transition to the Sega 16-bit console & some are even better on it than on Arcade! :)
about Wardner, from the few i've played it & compared to the Arcade version, the port is great &, unlike the Arcade version, it even runs fullscren. i need to dig it more then i'll have a definitive opinion about itAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10273282191430132287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-14270641184869072442011-12-15T00:19:25.332+00:002011-12-15T00:19:25.332+00:00Capers (typical Italian exclamation)!

I also agree that it's strange that it never appeared on the Engine, it would've been an ideal machines to convert it to and it appeared at exactly the right time too. Mystifying!

Thanks Sean :) It's a great game to explore if you've never played it. The MD version would probably be your best bet but the FDS version would make a great addition to your collection... if you can find a working copy!RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-18304529433314812502011-12-14T03:01:13.430+00:002011-12-14T03:01:13.430+00:00Great review. I like that the art style is pretty different from that used in most Taito games of the era, and the setting is nice (if a bit drab), too. My only issue with the game: It never got a PC Engine port!Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.com
