Most of the games I had on disk were on compilations. I had Magnificent 7, Giants, and Taito Coin-Op Hits on disk and they were wonderful. Arkanoid in particular saw a lot or play :)

May your divine spirit dwelleth forever more in the fine garden of our reverence :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-49828773675999528202015-11-05T14:00:44.559+00:002015-11-05T14:00:44.559+00:00This was my first computer although my first game ...This was my first computer although my first game I loaded was from tape called SAS simulator from Codemasters. My favourite disk based games were Hostages, Lords of Chaos, Rainbow Islands and Ghouls 'N' GhostsRetrogodnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-16807792649640166982015-05-12T12:50:37.108+01:002015-05-12T12:50:37.108+01:00https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuUeEoZ0vhY

I never finished it either and only recently worked out how to 'save state' in my Spectrum emulator so I may also try going through the whole game soon. Maybe I'll even post the results here! :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-73368412996007379712014-10-08T14:13:37.385+01:002014-10-08T14:13:37.385+01:00Wow, I got a Spectrum +3 as well, probably at a si...Wow, I got a Spectrum +3 as well, probably at a similar time. I played all the games you mentioned which makes me think they came with the computer. I remember finding NOMAD very evocative somehow. The background graphics change subtly as you go on and it kind of draws you in to the world. I really wanted to finish the game but never did. Maybe now I can save/resume with an emulator. The robot looked a bit strange, more like a dog... I also liked the way the score ticked up slowly until it reached the total value and would whiz faster if you scored heavily, like cogs. I remember being impressed by this detail!

(I also remember Cobra on the +3 disk. I think that came with the computer..?)

Thanks, this post is pure nostalgia for me!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-66717063231359769362011-07-19T20:46:50.257+01:002011-07-19T20:46:50.257+01:00Thanks Bryan! It was very popular over here and a couple of other European countries, but that's all. It was a great little machine though, it had games released for about 15 years! :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-29445651670255266692011-07-19T18:33:12.382+01:002011-07-19T18:33:12.382+01:00I've never before seen or heard of a Speccy, s...I've never before seen or heard of a Speccy, so this was a particularly interesting read for me, Simon. I'm guessing the Speccy was another of those computers/consoles that were popular in Europe/UK but not in North American (if they were even released in NA)?Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-80583850626991780432011-07-18T17:41:27.077+01:002011-07-18T17:41:27.077+01:00Thank you sir! :) It wasn't bundled with the b...Thank you sir! :) It wasn't bundled with the best collection of games ever but it was a great machine that I have fond memories of :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-53915842052972210522011-07-17T17:21:52.471+01:002011-07-17T17:21:52.471+01:00An excellent selection indeed.
