I guess if Taito were going to be responsible for any aspect of the game though, it would have to be the cuteness! :PRetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-65956385012919776612012-09-13T12:58:15.986+01:002012-09-13T12:58:15.986+01:00Nice overview, but it may interest you to know thi...Nice overview, but it may interest you to know this isn't a Taito game!

It was developed by Hot-B, who originally planned to have the game look more like Darius (or the MD Insector X) but Taito suggested they made its appearance cuter. It's detailed here in this interview with a Hot-B staff member (about halfway into the interview)
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41905Ant Cookehttp://gaminghell.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-34182375045890555332012-09-11T20:04:33.736+01:002012-09-11T20:04:33.736+01:00Looks great! Far from a terrible game though, as I said :)RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-52981854835040521852012-09-11T19:43:30.320+01:002012-09-11T19:43:30.320+01:00Oh, I love it! The main character and enemy sprites are very "Taito," especially from that era/period. Really wish they would have ported this version to the PC Engine/Mega Drive as well as the more realistic/gritty version. Oh, well, at least we have MAME :)Bryan Ochallahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16256591698209804728noreply@blogger.com
