It has nice 3D at least :PRetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-3053683202913181802011-10-26T00:48:45.656+01:002011-10-26T00:48:45.656+01:00I agree with Sean.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and ...I agree with Sean.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 are some of the most dreadful things to have come out in cinema in recent years. I didn't even bother to check the 4th one.
As for this new 3 Musketeers, it's still being shown here. Let's see if I get the right motivation to go see it (if you know what I mean hehehehe)Edwardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491361099947592597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-25482372087132413762011-10-25T14:40:26.599+01:002011-10-25T14:40:26.599+01:00Try and remember to let me know what you think :) ...Try and remember to let me know what you think :) I'm intrigued now!RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-22372450139829176602011-10-25T13:43:34.482+01:002011-10-25T13:43:34.482+01:00LOL, to each his own! Perhaps I am just projecting my disappointment with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 onto this one, which isn`t fair. I`ll probably check it out on DVD! :)Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-10568053306102270062011-10-25T12:29:10.567+01:002011-10-25T12:29:10.567+01:00That's a fair point Sean, I totally understand...That's a fair point Sean, I totally understand. I liked the first Pirates film a lot but the second and third ones were rather less enjoyable as you say. I haven't bothered with the fourth one yet.

Regarding The Three Musketeers - I'm not the kind of person who would usually like a film like this - visual spectacle is less important than story, acting, characters, etc, in my opinion and I often shun big budget but dumb Hollywood films for their lack of these things, but I really enjoyed this one. As I said, I'm in the minority as far as I know but I don't care :PRetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5455082771543433548.post-22615508060559109012011-10-25T10:56:06.687+01:002011-10-25T10:56:06.687+01:00Eh....I don`t know. I haven`t seen it or read any reviews (except yours just now), but they`ve started playing the trailers for this one here in Japan recently and I`ve been a bit turned off by them.

Personally I`m getting tired of all these films that just seem to be throwing as much eye candy on the screen as they can to the extent that it just detracts from everything else. I don`t know if that will be the case with this one but the trailers, which showed some very unrealistic looking flying ships involved in massive action scenes and not a single word of dialogue from any of the characters, did not allay my fears much.

I felt this way a lot with the Pirates of the Caribean films. I liked the characters a lot, but felt that they were just shoving in way too many unrealistic looking action sequences and CG effects to the point that it just made the 2nd and 3rd films almost complete stinkers. The action with the ridiculous CG monsters was the most boring part, whenever that stuff started I always thought `no, go back to Johny Depp and Geoffery Rush doing their characters, that is the only thing interesting in these films!`Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.com
